CULTURAL CONSULTATION / LOCALIZATION

Communication is not just a matter of language. Each culture has a code that dictates our behavior and perceptions in different environments. Before launching a company, website, software, product or service abroad, it is imperative that your concept and core messages are analyzed in the context of each targeted country or geographic area.

The Language Lab provides an in-depth Connotative Study to review and evaluate the appropriateness and cultural and linguistic connotations of trademarks, logos or general concepts within the target market. This study is conducted by a group of professional consultants who have experience in this type of research and are natives of the targeted area(s). The results are presented in a report customized to the needs of each client.

CULTURAL AWARENESS TRAINING

Mastering a foreign language is only the first step to understanding a people, but it does not necessarily enable us to bridge the cultural gap.

The Language Lab works with consultants from all over the world to help individuals, groups or corporations gain a more in-depth understanding of any given culture.

Each program consists of two parts:

First, an introduction to the target culture including a brief overview of its history, geography, politics, population, language(s) and main cultural features.

Second, a session tailored to our client’s specific needs, addressing issues such as:

  • Meet & Greet / Body Language
  • Basic Do’s and Don’ts
  • Business Practices
  • Social Behavior
  • Family Traditions
  • Table Manners and Food Related Issues

All of the above can be combined with a basic foreign language course.
